The lions at Rosenborg Castle (Løverne ved Rosenborg Slot) are two bronze sculptures positioned at the entrance to the castle. They symbolise royal authority and act as guardians of the castle’s gateway.

The sculptures emphasise Rosenborg Castle’s historical status as a former royal residence and its current role as a museum of Danish royal history. Executed in a classical style, the lions contribute to the monumental and symbolic character of the castle gardens, highlighting the richness and prestige of Denmark’s history. The tongue of the lion on the right can be lifted and according to an unofficial story, it was here the king would leave his key when going out drinking in Copenhagen.
