Søren Kierkegaard Statue
A tribute to one of the great philosophers
Søren Kierkegaard Statue (Søren Kierkegaard-statuen) is located in the Royal Library Garden on Slotsholmen in Copenhagen. It was created by sculptor Louis Hasselriis and unveiled in 1918.
The statue depicts the philosopher seated with a thoughtful expression, symbolising his reflections on existence and faith.
The monument highlights Kierkegaard’s significance to Danish philosophy and cultural heritage and serves as a focal point for both academics and visitors with an interest in literature and the history of ideas. Cast in bronze, the statue stands on a simple plinth that emphasises the contemplative figure within the urban space.
