A park with winding paths and rich wildlife
Østre Anlæg is a scenic park in the heart of Copenhagen, where history and nature meet.
The park was established in the 1870s on the remnants of Copenhagen’s old fortifications and was designed by landscape architect H.A. Flindt, who also designed Ørstedsparken and the Botanical Garden. Today, Østre Anlæg is a protected park offering winding paths, green slopes, and abundant wildlife, especially around the three lakes that were once part of the moat system. The park also features several monuments and statues, including the Denmark Monument and a bust of composer Niels W. Gade.Additionally, there is a large playground popular among families with children. Østre Anlæg is open year-round and is an ideal spot for a peaceful walk, a picnic, or a cultural experience.
