An architectural landmark in Nyboder

St. Pauls Church – also known as the Nyboder Church – is located in the heart of Copenhagen’s historic Nyboder area and stands as a fine example of 19th-century Danish church architecture.

The church was inaugurated in 1877 and was designed by architect Johannes Emil Gnudtzmann in the Neo-Romanesque style, featuring red brick construction, rounded arches, and an elegant spire. St. Pauls Church is known for its peaceful ambiance and strong connection to the surrounding Nyboder neighborhood, originally established by King Christian IV for the Royal Navy. Today, the church serves as a local parish and community hub, hosting concerts, services, and cultural events. A visit to St. Pauls Church offers serenity, history, and architectural beauty – right in one of Copenhagen’s most charming districts.

St. Pauls Church is beautifully aligned with Adelgade, making it easy to spot from anywhere along the street. However, the best viewpoint is at the intersection of Adelgade and Fredericiagade, where the iconic yellow Nyboder houses create a beautiful frame around the church.
