Trangravsbroen
Modern three-section bridge connection
Trangravsbroen (The Butterfly Bridge) is one of the key pedestrian and cyclist bridges in Copenhagen’s Inner Harbor, linking Papirøen with Christianshavn and the Nyholm area.
The bridge opened in 2015 as part of the Harbor Route, providing easy access to the harbor’s many new public spaces and cultural destinations. Trangravsbroen is composed of three separate bridge sections that span the narrow canals of Christianshavn, creating a fluid connection between the adjacent islands. With its modern, understated design, the bridge blends into the historic surroundings while contributing to the vibrant atmosphere near Papirøen, the Opera House and the busy waterfront paths used daily by locals and visitors. Today, it serves as an important hub for smooth passage between some of Copenhagen’s most popular harbor districts.
