Wilders Bro
Charming bridge in Christianshavn
Wilders Bro (Wilders Bridge) is a small but historically significant bridge crossing Wilders Canal and connecting Strandgade with the area around Wilders Plads in Christianshavn.
Situated in one of the district’s oldest maritime quarters, the bridge reflects the history of the Wilder family, who operated a major shipyard here in the 18th century. The present fixed bridge dates from the early 20th century and today serves pedestrians, cyclists, and local traffic. The bridge offers atmospheric views of Wilders Canal, the old warehouses, and the distinctive yellow buildings that characterize the neighborhood. While not the most famous bridge in Copenhagen, Wilders Bro plays an important role in the history of Christianshavn and functions as a quiet yet central link in the old harbor district.

The view from Wilders Bro down along the canal, with the many small boats and the charming, colourful houses, is remarkable. If you want to see the bridge and its surroundings from a distance, you’ll find a beautiful perspective from the Havnepromenaden on the opposite side of the harbor.
