La Glace

Iconic pastry shop in Copenhagen

Conditori La Glace is one of Denmark’s oldest and most iconic patisserie and is known for its classic pastry craftsmanship in a class of its own. The patisserie was founded in 1870 by Nicolaus Henningsen and continued by his wife, Anina, who became the first of seven notable women who have since carried on the patisserie with passion and professional pride.

At La Glace, everything is made by hand with respect for tradition, and several of the tools in the small bakery are original. The range offers both historical cakes based on original recipes and modern creations that are renewed with care and respect for the pastry profession. La Glace’s most famous cake, the Sportskagen, was created in 1891 and is still a permanent fixture in the display case.

However, La Glace is much more than just a cake – it is an authentic holistic experience, known for its beautiful exhibitions and its special Christmas atmosphere in Skoubogade in the heart of Copenhagen.
